Calypso Cruises offer one day tour at the gorgeous Isla Tortuga located in the Gulf of Nicoya.

This one day tour includes a real island discovery tour. It passes in front of some special islands of the Gulf of Nicoya. For example, Cedros, Jesusita, Pájaros, San Lucas, Pan de Azúcar, etc.

Calypso Cruises offer the opportunity of enjoying sport fishing around the local islands aboard the 25ft Mono Congo. The fishing grounds are only 5 minutes away from Punta Coral offering you more time to fish.
Punta Coral offers an area with several islands with various reefs and a good current. The main target is the hard hitting and great fighting Roosterfish. You can also fish for Red Snapper, Grouper, Pacific Sierra Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Skipjack Tuna and Crocodile Needlefish.
If weather permit, it is possible to go a little further out to blue water to fish for Dorado (Mahi Mahi). All of these fish are available year around but there are seasonal variations.
The owner of Bahia Rica Adventures, Captain Thomas, is a marine biologist with fishing experience from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He is in charge of taking you to the best places in the area.
While fishing, there is also the possibility of seeing other sea animals on the trip such as Ridley and Leatherback Sea Turtles, Humpback Whales, Dolphins and Manta Rays.
The fishing area is from Punta Coral to the Negritos Island, Tortuga Island and down to Tango Mar. It is all close so we don't waste time getting to the fishing locations. Persons fishing should bring sun block, sunglasses and a tight fitting hat.
In the one day sea kayaking adventure you can paddle in calm waters passing fascinating islands where you can go ashore on untouched virgin beaches.
This tour provides transportation directly from your hotel in San Jose, Jaco or Manuel Antonio to our dock in Puntarenas. There you will board our catamaran “The Manta Ray”, for a relaxing ride to the Punta Coral Private Reserve. You have the opportunity during the tour to view the Dry Tropical Forest that grows right into the sea. This adventure will take you to many special places where you may see various animals like monkeys, iguanas, birds, lizards, birds, turtles, fishes and butterflies.
Visit Isla Cedros or Nancital
You are going to paddle over to Playa Langosta on Isla Cedros. Then you continue to a small island in the bay called Isla Garrobo. The tour proceed around Isla Cedros, here you can have the chance to see Howler Monkeys.
Monkey Island or Nansital has a beautiful beach full of Spider Monkeys. There are numerous tide pools and on the island where you can find fish, crags and moray eels.
If you paddle from the main beach at Punta Coral, you will arrive to a secret little spot of land called Isla San Pedro.
Then you are going to visit Boca de Tiburon, which is the passage between the two islands. On the south side of Isla Nansital, you often spot Ridley or Leatherback Turtles and manta rays. On the way back to Punta Coral, you will again kayak past Isla San Pedro. A delicious seafood lunch will be served upon arrival back to Punta Coral.

Most of these reefs are made of volcanic and coral formations with depth ranging between 8 to 35 (25-115 feet). The sites will be determined by the currents and visibility. There is a huge variety of tropical fish such as Manta Rays, Spotted Eagle Rays, Puffer Fish, Blue Spotted Jacks and several species of moray eel.
